Special Issues

1 Call for papers and publication

In addition to general submissions (miscellaneous), Alicante Journal of English Studies (RAEI) occasionally publishes monographic or special issues according to the periodicity of publication. In this case, at least six months prior to publication, the journal will issue a Call for Papers inviting contributions. This will be published as an announcement on the web. Authors can check the open calls in the Announcements section.

The Call for Papers will provide information on editorial guidelines, specific submission dates, deadlines, and the issue in which the special edition will be published.

2 Features

Special issues for Alicante Journal of English Studies (RAEI) will meet the following requirements or conditions:

  • The subject matter will be included in the journal's Aims and scope section.
  • All accepted proposals for monographic issues will be published to enable the participation of those interested.
  • Manuscripts submitted for a monographic issue will follow the same process as those submitted for a miscellaneous issue, including compliance with the guidelines for authors, peer review process, editorial policies, etc.
  • The peer review process will be carried out by the coordinators (guest editors). However, the Editorial Board will supervise the work of the appointed editors on all monographic articles.
  • Special issues may be coordinated by no more than two editors, who must not be affiliated with the University of Alicante or serve on the Editorial Board.
  • The guest editors will be responsible for preparing the Introduction to the special issue but will not be permitted to submit original research articles.
  • The layout and typesetting fees for the special issue will be the responsibility of the special issue’s editors or their institutions.
