Abstract

This article tries to show how Muriel Spark studies the dichotomy of individualism and leadership in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. Jean Brodie poses as a daringly unconventional and individualistic woman but she cannot free herself from the brooding weight of Calvinism that has oppressed her childhood.
